The disaster, recovery and beyond
Discover real Fukushima

Fukushima Prefectural Association in UK

Fukushima, known for the earthquake and the following nuclear accident, has suffered catastrophic physical damage  and reputational damage for 10 years. Thanks to the support not only from inside Japan but also from all around the world, the prefecture has been working on reconstruction.

As an association of Fukushima prefecture in UK, we have organised numerous events in London to help Fukushima for 10 years. Since March 11th 2021 will mark the 10th anniversary of this incident, we have long planned to hold special events in remembrance of this occasion. However, hosting a physical live event is sadly impossible due to the current coronavirus pandemic. We have instead decided to go online for the very first time.

We will broadcast the voyage that they have made since the disaster and the beauty of the prefecture which remained intact after the disaster. You will be able to see how the area has evolved from the day of the earthquake to the present day recovery. You will also have a glimpse of the popular local products such as big juicy peaches and good sake along with touristic and cultural information of the prefecture.

We greatly appreciate your interest towards Fukushima. Your understanding is a major support for us and for the people over there.
